Ceramic fiber board is also known as aluminum silicate fiber board. It is made from ceramic fiber and has the advantages of light in weight, high temperature resistance, chemical stability, low heat conduction efficiency, etc. The first step to make ceramic fiber board is to produce ceramic fibre. The main raw materials of ceramic fiber board are high-purity alumina, silicate and other additives among which alumina is the main component. The raw materials are mixed in a certain proportion and then to be crushed, screened, dried to ensure that the size of raw materials is uniform and the moisture content is low. The treated raw materials are put into an electrical arc furnace or an electrical resistance furnace and then adjust the temperature to more than 2000 degrees C. At high temperature, the raw materials are melting into liquid and flow out of the furnace.  At this time, the molten liquid is blown into a fiber shape by high-speed air flow.

Then the secondary processing will be carried out. The quality of ceramic fibre directly decides the property of ceramic fiber board. Ceramic fiber is sent into the molding machine to form the mold board. Through vibration, pressure and other processing technology, the ceramic fibre is formed into a molded fiber board with certain strength and stability. After the molding is completed, the molded ceramic fiber board is sent to the hardening chamber. It is hardened under the condition of constant temperature and humidity environment for natural drying for two or three days. After the hardening is completed, the ceramic fibre board is cut, punched and trimmed to meet the customers’ requirements. The processed ceramic fiber board is packed for transport, storage and use.

Ceramic fiber board has low thermal conductivity and excellent thermal insulation properties. It can withstand high temperature and high pressure under harsh environment. The board has good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. It is mainly used as lightweight refractory fiber linings in furnaces and kilns. When it is used as high temperature lining material in furnaces, it can withstand thermal shock and violent mechanical vibration. It won’t damage the high temperature furnaces and can protect the furnace and extend its service life. Compared to other traditional lining materials such as fire bricks and castable, it has energy saving effect. Ceramic fiber board has a wide range of applications in metallurgical, petrochemical, power generation, construction, electronic and other industrial fields.
