Fiberglass E-glass cloth is a high quality glass fiber fabric woven from E-glass fiber yarn. It is a commonly used glass fiber cloth with the characteristics of surface flatness, dimensional stability, high tensile strength, electrical insulation, high temperature resistance, excellent chemical stability, etc. and can be extensively used in industrial fields.
Fiberglass E-glass cloth is a composite material for making fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). The cloth can be well compatible with chemical resins for fabricating various kinds of FRP products and components such as FRP automobile parts, FRP boats, FRP windows and doors, FRP electrical and electronical parts, FRP wind blade, construction materials, etc. FRP products can be seen everywhere in our daily life. E-glass cloth can be used as insulation materials as well.
Alkali metal content of fiberglass cloth is often used as an index to distinguish glass fiber cloth for different purposes. Fiberglass E-glass cloth contains very small amount of alkali metal, usually less than 0.8%, so it is called alkali free fiberglass cloth. The very small amount of alkali metal of the cloth makes it unique and different from other fiberglass fabrics. E-glass cloth has a large-scale application in the field of electrical and electronical areas. E-glass cloth 7628, 2116 and 1080 are the most commonly used electronical grade fiberglass cloth. They are plain weave, lightweight and very thin cloth which is an excellent fabric for making printed circuit board. E-glass cloth is also a superior electrical insulation material which can effectively insulate the electric current and ensure the safe operation of electrical equipments. It can be used as electric insulation wrapping and covering material for electric cables, electric motors, electric appliances and other electric equipments. The other fiberglass fabrics such as C-glass cloth and S-glass cloth contain more alkali metals. These are the conductive impurities and it is the important reason why the other fiberglass fabrics have poor electrical and elctronical insulation performance. They can not be used for electrical and electronical purposes.
E-glass cloth has excellent high temperature resistant property and is not easy to change under high temperature environment. It can be used as thermal insulation materials for various kinds of equipments such as steam pipelines, high temperature resistant sleeves, thermal insulation building materials, etc. E-glass cloth 3784 and 3788 are thicker and heavier and can be made into welding blankets to keep away from welding sparks and protect welding workers from burn and also protect the environment around the work side from damage. It also can be made into fireproof curtains, fireproof clothing, fireproof gloves, etc. Due to the better heat resistant property, it can maintain the stability of the structures under high temperature conditions.
Chemical stability refers to the ability of the cloth to resist water, acid, alkali and other media. E-glass cloth has good chemical stability and can be used in petrochemical industry. It is an anti-corrosion material which can resist acid, alkali, oil, organic solvents, poisons, etc. It is an excellent material for wrapping and covering chemical pipelines and various kinds of chemical equipments. E-glass woven roving is a fiberglass textile and can be combined with chemical resins to produce petrochemical pipelines, storage tanks, anti-corrosion grating, etc. When the cloth is used in petrochemical industrial field, it can achieve good chemical resistant effect. E-glass cloth can maintain good performance in various chemical environments and achieve very good result for corrosion resistance purpose.
